The organisers of Aldon Horse Trials have been delighted with the level entries they have received for the event this October. With over 800 horse and rider combinations applying to compete, a large number have been balloted due to classes being oversubscribed.
Honorary Organiser Tessa Mackenzie-Green commented ‘We were not sure how many entries would get, as some events have not been well subscribed this year, but we have been overwhelmed. It is always a tough job to ballot people, especially at the end of the season, but with the shorter daylight hours there are only so many runners we can get through in each day.
The top level of competition, the international CIC** class, will see over 60 of the top horses and riders in the country competing for the prizes. With a large number of international riders amongst the runners, it promises to be hotly contested.
